Description:80 hours per pay period.

Responsible for supervision of the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs and staff. Provides patient care and education
Duties:To enable patients with heart disorders to resume active and productive lives within the limitations imposed by their disease process through:

Education regarding medication, health heart lifestyle, anatomy and physiology and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular or pulmonary systems.

Monitored exercise programs with knowledge of desirable and undesirable affects of exercise on the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.

To communicate patient progress to physician.

To promote a safe exercise environment with knowledge of emergency medical care.

Is responsible to the Rehabilitation Department Manager.

Collaborates with physician advisor of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Works closely with Exercise Physiologist, medical staff, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacists, physical therapy and dietitians as appropriate.

Performs supervisory and managerial responsibilities for the departments including staffing, budgeting and patient care.
Qualifications:Education: Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. R.T. preferred (certified or registered). BCLS/ACLS certified. BCLS instructor preferred.

Training and Experience: Has at least 5 years experience, with 2 years CCU/ICU.

Job Knowledge: Arrhythmia recognition and intervention knowledge skills. Knowledge of exercise response in heart and lung patients and those with comorbid conditions, hypertension, etc. Knowledge of reimbursement, knowledge of National Guidelines for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
